t's Monday night in Tokyo. We're enjoying a a brief break of good weather in the midst of the annual pre-summer rainy season. This program features shorts from India, China, Chile, & japan including our Route 246 Story short titled "Jiro ru: Densetsu no Yo-na-o-shi", Loosely translated as "Jirocho's Rock N' Roll-Back-to-the-Future-to-Save-the-World".
Very loosely translated! It's directed by Shidou Nakamura, a very well known Kabuki actor from a very famous kabuki family who has branched out in to film, TV, fashion, & music.
As a directorial debut the short is very well-made (I'm sure his film work didn't hurt as far as getting some professional help) with a sure hand & an excellent sense if humor. The 1st film screened in this program was "Your Sound" directed by Hiroshi Okuda
