Official Competition
90 short films selected from approximately 3500 will be screened under the official competition categories. The Grand Prix winner will be chosen from 3 categories: International, Asia International, and Japan. The winner of the Grand Prix is eligible to receive an Academy Award nomination for the following year.
The Grand Prix is selected from within the three Best Short Film Award winners. The film will be eligible for an Academy Award® nomination in the short film category for the following year.
International Competition

Japan Competition
Prize: 600,000yen
This award will be given to he Best Short awarded films in Asia International and Japan Competition.

Five selected J-WAVE listeners will screen and rate the films to select the award winner from STOP! Global Warming Competition. Prize : 500,000yen
Best Music Short Award Prize : 600,000yen
FRED will give the award to the best actor & actress from the competitions.
Prize: FRED Best Actor Award an original design trophy and a bracelet as a symbol for "a hurricane-force wind of talent".
Prize: FRED Best Actress Award an original design trophy and a pendant as a symbol for success.
The first "Best Actor & Actress Award" in Short Shorts history presented by Fred.
Purveyors to Royalty and celebrities from around the world, French high-grade jeweler FRED is now supporting the young and talented actors and actresses of short films. FRED will award an original design trophy and jewelry in both categories. For Best Actress, a pendant as a symbol for success, and for Best Actor, a bracelet as a symbol for "a hurricane-force wind of talent." You may find the future stars of Hollywood and the world right here!
Five student jury members from the Tokyo Film Center School of Arts will screen and rate the films to select the award winner from the International Competition.
Given to the creator or artist whose short film inspired a wide audience and received widespread public attention.
Audience members will vote to give the award to one winner from the each of the 4 main competition categories listed above. Prize: 200,000 yen.
