Deadline of the submission: December 15th, 2009 (postmark on December 15th accepted)

 

1. Theme Calls for any film that include the following themes: “I feel like I want to travel (in Japan) again,” “Traveling (in Japan) is good” And/or “that makes me want to go to Japan!” The films must feature Japanese regional attractions, culture and/or history.
   
2. Conditions: Films must be filmed in Japan. All ages and nationalities of filmmakers are welcome.
   
3. Formats: All. (Please note, however, that submissions must be sent on DVD screener and, if selected, filmmakers are required to provide an NTSC Digi-Betacam, NTSC Betacam SP or DV-Cam.)
   
4. Running Time: 20 minutes and under. No exceptions. Running time includes closing credits.
   
5. Produced Since: Not required.
   
6. English subtitles: required for submissions with language other than English or Japanese.

1. Please complete online submission. (Even if you have more than one film to submit, please complete one online submission form for each film.)
2. Send your Submission Receipt and NTSC or PAL DVD screener of your completed film.
   ・Screeners will not be returned.
   ・Works in progress will not be considered.
   ・If you are submitting more than one film, you may include them all on one DVD, but please label the tape clearly and remember to complete separate submission forms for each film.
   *Please do NOT send press kits or any other materials with your submission. Any extra materials will be discarded.

Selected films will be announced in February 2010.
At that time, all filmmakers will be notified via e-mail as to whether their films have been selected in the competition.

The Short Shorts Film Festival's national tour of Japan kicks off in Tokyo. Japanese tour cities will be announced in Spring 2010 and are subject to change. All selected films will screen in Tokyo, but programs in other tour cities may vary.
As our festival continues to grow, we are working to expand the tour beyond Japan. Not all selected films will screen at all locations, and filmmakers will be notified via email if their films will screen outside Japan.
