THURSDAY, 06/11, LAFORET MUSEUM HARAJUKU: International Program B welcomes Joachim Straning from Sweden!
2015-06-11

For our 3rd & final “regular” screening program of the day, International B, we had an excellent Q&A with director Joachim Nakagawa Straning for his short “The Gold Watch.” This delightful fantasy about a supermarket shopper who is able to freeze time with the aid of a magical watch was received very well & some pointed questions were asked by our attentive audience. Joachim revealed that he spent 6 years in all making this roughly 7 minute short; several re-writes, several false starts, 3 long nights shooting in a local supermarket, & an even longer 8 months with post production. Whew! Way to go Joachim, it turned out great!

Well it’s off to the welcome party for the invited filmmakers & actors with Joachim at the gorgeous Andaz Tokyo, a new venue for some screenings this year!                                                                                             DJ John
