Ryan
Fleck (Writer/Director) and Anna Boden (Writer/Producer/Editor)
began their artistic collaboration on the documentary
short "Have You Seen This Man?" which received
several festival awards. Ryan and Anna are currently
in post-production on their first feature documentary,
which they co-directed in Cuba last summer. "Gowanus,
Brooklyn" received the Grand Jury Prize in short
filmmaking at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. The film
is based on a feature screenplay HALF NELSON, which the
team is currently raising funds to produce. |

Leonard
Palmestål studied media arts first at Sävegymnasiet,
Gotland and then at the Stockholm Filmschool.
He worked as an editing assistant for Jonas Akerlund
before returning to studies at Göteborg University.
Leonard has created a handful of left-wing media
pieces. He also worked as the Second Unit Director
on Akerlund's feature-length film Spun, released
last year. |

David
Gonzalez Bermudez was born in Mallorca, Spain
in 1980. After graduating with a degree in film
studies, he landed his first job as a camera
assistant. He went on to edit commercials and
music videos. In 2001 he earned a degree in computer
animation from the University of Balearic Island.
He is currently working in 3-D animation for
a small Spanish company. |

Lehman began her creative career at the age of
12 with an obsessive passion to snap photos of
the family dog. She worked as a portrait photographer
for 15 years before venturing into the short
film world. Michelle is currently in her fourth
year of studies at the Victorian College of Arts.

Born
to a filmmaking family in 1971, Sofia Coppola
made cinema history in 2003 by becoming the first
American woman to be nominated for an Academy
Award in the Best Director Category. Though she
did not take home that statuette, Ms. Coppola
was awarded the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay
for LOST IN TRANSLATION, which she wrote based
on her own experiences visiting Japan in her
early twenties.
Having
acted in films during much of her youth, as a young
adult Ms. Coppola explored other interests including
photography and fashion design. While studying
fine arts at the California Institute of the Arts,
Ms. Coppola began to experiment with video shorts,
which ultimately lead her to feature filmmaking.
THE VIRGIN SUICIDES (2000), her first feature film,
premiered in the Directors Fortnight of the 1999
Cannes Film Festival and established Ms. Coppola
as one of the most talented new filmmakers in Hollywood. |

Born
in 1970, Hajo Schomerus studied cinematography
at the University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund,
Germany. He also studied for one semester at
the Film and Television Institute of India in
Pune and spent a year in Tokyo doing social work.
Hajo works as a director of photography for feature
and documentary films, but "Me Myself and
the Universe" marks his directorial debut.
The film was originally shot as a graduate project
for his degree in cinematography, and he later
added the 4th episode and re-edited the entire
film. The film was shot in 35 mm cinemascope. |

Norwegian director Hans Petter Moland has won
awards for his commercial films at major festivals,
including Cannes. His feature debut came in 1993
with THE LAST LIEUTENANT. ZERO KELVIN (1995)
won him an Amanda (a Norwegian Oscar) and the
Grand Jury Prize at San Sebastian. Moland's next
feature, BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY, starring Nick Nolte
and Tim Roth, was released this winter. |

Silence" is Gustavo Loza's seventh short
film. After graduating from the University Iberoamericana
in Mexico City, he studied screenwriting and
began working on feature films. He produced children's
television during the late 1990's, including "Camino
a Casa," which was shot in cinema format
for Mexican television. In 2001 he shot his first
feature film, ATLETICO SAN PANCHO, and founded
Matatena Films. Gustavo is currently working
on his second feature film, VECINOS DISTANTES. |
