Taketomi-jima, Taketomi Village Historic Architectural Conservation Area. Taketomi-jima village is made up of 3 areas, the east village, west village, central village, and is located in the middle of the island. White sand roads run through the village. Red-tiled rooftop residences surrounded by stonewalls and gardens maintain the landscape of the old farming villages of the past.
