Rodd Rathjen/Australia/10:20:00/Comedy/2011

A brazen young man cruises the streets, searching for connection.

Nick Cook

In 'The Stranger' I got to gate crash a party, drive like a rock-star, wear a powder blue suit and dance to LCD Soundsystem. It really doesn't get much better than that! Thanks to Rodd Rathjen, the driving force of this film, for writing this wholly unique misfit that I had the honour of playing. And thanks also to Short Shorts for this humbling award and for your ongoing support of short films.

It is a great honor to receive the Best Actor Award. When I first read the script of “Stick”, I instantly fell in love with the story and wanted to play the lead role. It is my highest honor that I got to play and also received the award for it. I’d like to dedicate this award to Mr. Tada, who wrote and directed this wonderful piece, cast, crew members and all that were involved in making this film.

I was so shocked and ecstatic at winning the "Best Actress" Award at the 2012 Short Shorts Film Festival!
Playing the role of "Dahab" in High Card Trumps was a joy for me; when I first read the script, I felt I was destined to play this part and I am so happy that this is the first wonderful prize this film has received.
To be recognized and acknowledged for doing something I am passionate about, a role I LOVE with all my heart - it doesn't get better than that!
Thank you to the Judges at the Short Shorts Film Festival for this great honor. I hope one day to meet you and thank you in person for this beautiful award.

Children are ignorant of their parents, however, the opposite is also true. These are pretty wise sayings from the past.

Nigo Ayumi

First of all, it is my honor to receive the Best Actress Award in the Japan Competition. I’d also like to show my appreciation to the festival committee who chose “Famiry” for the selection, to the audience who enjoyed “Famiry”, and to Mr. Shiode, the director, who gave me the lead role in the film. This award became the corner stone for me and I’ll do my best to be a great actress that inspires the audience. Thank you very much.
