“How would you like to make a short film with a budget of ¥10,000,000?!”
Kodansha Cinema Creators Lab kicked off in August, 2022 as a support project for film creators.
Out of a total of 1,103 pitches (Japan: 903 / Overseas: 200) and after document screenings, multiple interviews, a total of 4 projects (Japan: 2 / Overseas: 2) were selected for the main award. In addition, we are pleased to announce that 1 special mention award project from Japan has been selected.
The four winners will receive 10 million yen each and the Special Mention Award winner will receive 2 million yen as a production budget for the short films. They will start production of short films to be completed by the end of 2023.
The winners and details of the project will be formally announced at the Award Ceremony of the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA) 2023 which will be held in June.
