Asia's premiere festival for American & International short film is accepting entries for its Summer 2002 tour, which will kick off in Tokyo, Japan next June. The American Short Shorts Film Festival (ASSFF) was founded to promote short film as a medium for cultural exchange with Japan and is quickly expanding to other Asian countries. Beginning in 2002 we will be called the Short Shorts Film Festival, reflecting our larger, more international line up.
Each year the SSFF sponsors 10-15 filmmakers to join the festival in Tokyo, where they speak on panels, participate in Q&A with audience members, tour the city, and revel in Tokyo nightlife. Festival attendance for the current 2001 tour of Japan and Singapore is expected to reach a record-breaking 30,000.
No entry fee.
Guidelines are: All genres; All formats; All countries;
Japanese premieres only; NTSC VHS screeners only; 25 minutes and under;
Produced since 1/00.
Deadline: October 1, 2001.
