JYONGRI wows the audience with her beauty & talent in both Japanese & fluent English!
That was rockin'! This program was a huge success for us. 7 directors, 1 beautiful and hugely talented singer/songwriter, and 1 cute, charming, also beautiful and talented actress all showed up to greet the audience and talk about their respective films. Absolutely, one of the high points and a big draw of this festival is the chance to question the various filmmakers & artists about their short film. Anna Tsuchiya, a very cool & popular singer here, provided her song "Brave Vibration" which was the vehicle for actress & idol Aimi Satsukawa to play a young girl in love who transforms herself into a butt-kickin' female wrestler in order top win back her man. Aimi pulls it off with innocence AND a fierce determination. Great job by the director Naoto Hidaka to realize her strengths and draw it out of her. Singer/songwriter Jyongri was very pleased with the way director Tadaaki Horai depicted her song "Ichizu." Jyongri told the audience that she was so inspired by the result that she wants to continue making short film versions of her songs. Excellent!
Still many chances to see the Music Short Creative or PV programs either in Yokohama at the Brillia Short Shorts Theater or at Harajuku Laforet when we move the operation there starting next Wednesday. Do come see us. You WILL have a great time. The short films are well-made, engaging, compelling, fun, and entertaining. Besides, I'll be there MC'ing away. (Hey, it's been a long but extremely fun 4 days here so give me a break if I'm a little punchy!)
