Born in Japan and raised in Seattle, Washington Mei pursued her bachelor's degree in biological sciences and film studies at Mount Holyoke College. She currently resides in Tokyo Japan, directing and producing. She enjoys mixing themes of science and art into her work, and leans towards stories exploring adolescence and the pains of growing up.
