On the final day of the Tokyo program of the Autumn International Short Film Festival, audiences enjoyed a full lineup of events including non-stop short film screenings and the International Conference on AI and Filmmaking.

The conference brought together ten experts from Japan and abroad, including creators utilizing AI technology in visual production and festival representatives familiar with global trends in AI-generated films.
From their diverse perspectives, the panelists engaged in deep discussions about the use of AI in film creation, artistic expression, and related ethical considerations.

During the non-stop screening program, Snigdha Kapoor, director of Holy Curse (India), and Birdy Wei-Ting Hung, director of A Brighter Summer Day for the Lady Avengers (Taiwan), appeared for a Q&A session, sharing behind-the-scenes stories and creative insights.

Interactive experience booths continued to attract visitors in the venue lobby, offering immersive installations that recreated the worlds depicted in short films, allowing audiences to step into the stories as participants — a fresh, sensory cinematic experience.
The Autumn International Short Film Festival continues online through November 10, streaming about 50 short films, including this year’s Grand Prix and category award winners, on the Online Grand Theater.
