"It" awakens in a cave and has the form of a human, but is empty and like a doll. As it comes into contact with all things in the universe, including insects, animals, grass, and grains, it is given a share of life, gradually comes to breathe, acquires an individual spirit, and comes to understand the cycle of life and death.
