| Unbelievable: the last day of the festival! |
First, the rain went away. The day started off with a panel discussion on
Korean Short Shorts. Pusan Asian Film Festival director Jeon Soo Il talked
about Korean short films in between screenings of gOut of Bounds,h
gAmarita Muscaria,h gGoatfs Lover,h gThe Lighthouse Keeper,h and
gOo-hoo.h Kim Jun Ki, director of gThe Lighthouse Keeper,h explained how
he set about making his film. gI studied graphics and design, and I thought
Ifd try making an animated film.h Jun Ki added that he didnft use any dialogue
in his film because he wanted it to be understood by anyone who saw it. His next
short film will also not have any dialogue.

Audiences rushed to catch the last of the festival and packed the Laforet screenings
all day. Filmmakers said it was hard to believe that a week had passed.
gI actually feel kind of sad that itfs ending,h Phil Stoole said. He and other
filmmakers said they had a great time meeting other filmmakers, getting to know
the SSFF staff and volunteers during the course of the week. gYou canft get to
know anyone at larger festivals, because there are so many people. This is very special,
and Ifve had a wonderful time,h said Lorenza Manrique said.

At the end of the last program, Program G, festival co-founder Doug Williams thanked
all of the attending filmmakers for coming and sharing their views and experiences.
Tetsuya Bessho followed with thanks to both the audiences and the SSFF staff for
