Sat, 06/19, 13:20 - The WETA Seminar: WOW! Fun, entertaining, AND educational! It's ALL good!

Martin Baynton gets bloody for the
young filmmakers at the WETA seminar.

The "professor, " gentle giant, not only in size but in passion for creating, leads & gives energy to the WETA seminar.

Wow! What an incredibly fun, engaging, & powerful learning experience. The WETA seminar supported by VANTAN was held to a full house of eager young filmmakers wanting to learn all about incorporating VFX into their short films, most of course, on a very small budget. Richard Martin, co-founder of WETA & Pukeko Pictures, Academy Awardⓒ winner & Martin Baynton, co-founder of Pukeko Pictures, WETA creator, both somehow found time for us & flew with a complete visual presentation with props and a whole history of analog & digital VFX in their creative minds. Without getting into the details of their roughly 1 & 1/2 hour seminar. There was fake blood flying, head-smacking with a shovel, & Martin walking/running about with a brace on both legs made to look like he had horse legs.

The most important thing that they imparted to the audience was their passion for their work. Have a close & tight team with the same passion & energy & vision. And never, never, give up on your dreams.

Big ups to VANTAN for making it possible to hold this wonderful learning experience. And to Richard & Martin, you guys are the absolute best! In your humanity, generosity, and you willingness to share in the wealth of your experience & passion. BRAVO!
