Kishida is an independent film producer who has recently been followed by a TV documentary crew. In the middle of an interview, he receives a call from Naomi Yamaguchi, a young film director who is determined to make the film of her life. She asks him to join the project for very little pay, insisting that he should be happy simply to have the chance to make a film. Kishida understands her passion, but cannot accept her reasoning, and the gap between them gradually widens.
Set in the world of independent filmmaking, the story portrays the pressures, frustrations, and conflicts faced by young filmmakers as they struggle to keep creating their work.
