Ryuta Miyake

Born in Tokyo in 1972. After working as an assistant director, camera and lighting assistant, and music video director, he established himself as a screenwriter and film director. As one of the few script doctors in Japan, he has contributed to numerous film and drama projects both in Japan and internationally, and teaches at the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts. His credits include Child of Kamiari Month, The Complex and Ghost Theater. The Asadas, for which he served as script doctor, won the Excellent Screenplay Award at the Japan Academy Film Prize. His AI film WADACHI received the Special Jury Prize at the World AI Film Festival 2026 in KYOTO.
