| 11:45 | Last Chance to catch the SSFF in Matsumoto! |
![]() |
A professor from Shimano University came by not only to watch the films but also to volunteer his time and help out any way
he could. He's on break, you see. But because he was so busy, he only got to see one program, Program E. We had to get his
opinion, so here it is: "I think the film that impressed me the most was 'Offside'." The professor, who despite posing for
this photo, declined to be named, noticed a few of his students were also volunteering at the festival. "Nice to see them
working so hard even when they're on vacation!" |

This Matsumoto gentleman - much like the professor in our previous interview, declined to be named - just moved to Matsumoto.
He heard about the festival on the radio and decided to come over and check out the SSFF. "This is the first time I've ever
watched short films. Various countries' various 'colors' come out in the films, which I thought was great." He was - like
the professor! - impressed by the festival volunteers who made the experience a lot of fun. "I look forward to attending again, next year." |
| 15:50 | SBC Radio Car Suddenly Drops By! |

The SBC Radio car dropped by unexpectedly, but was certainly welcome. Ms. Midori Okada, who supervises the radio car, said
she just wanted to drop before resuming her duties. "This is the last day of the SSFF! You can still catch if you go right
away!" she announced on her radio car speakers as she zipped off… |
| 19:15 | It's over - time to clean up! |

It's the last day and both the SSFF staff and volunteers started cleaning up. (No one was scheduled to come in the next day…) |
| 20:00 | Final Goodbye to Matsumoto - and SSFF 2002! |

The three-day festival screened its last program and thus…the entire festival came to a close. Kei Ito, who oversaw this year's
festival in Matsumoto toasted volunteers and staff moments after they finished cleaning up and before they all disappeared. "
Without your help and collaboration, we couldn't have possibly put this festival on. Of course, without the staff from Tokyo
and your Executive Director, none of this would even happen. I believe this festival will return next year which I really look
forward to. I really can't find sufficient words to express how wonderful this week has been, working with all of you, and seeing
all of the people who came to watch the films in this year's festival. I thank you very much." See you next year! |
