Bochibochi Uchida / Japan / 2010 / 14:00

Moroitomo battled for 14 years after he lost his desire to speak. His dear friend Koyama prepares a surprise to celebrate the return to form. Wehen the unsuspecting Morimoto arrives at the hall... An emotion filled documentary music video that clocks in at over 14 minutes.

Artist : Arashi Morimoto

Former T-BOLAN vocalist Arashi Morimoto was the voice behind many hits like "Hanashitakunai" but suddenly halted his career when diagnosed with psychogenic aphonia. With this song, "Dakishimeteitai," he officially returns to the scene.

Director : Bochibochi Uchida

He was born in 1976 and debuted as a writer for television when he apprenticed under director Kundo Koyama. In July he debuted as screenwriter with the release of "Mitsubachi Hatch - Yuuki no Melody." This music video is his first directorial effort.

Creative Director: Kundo Koyama

Born in 1964, he debuted as a TV writer while attending college. He received an International Emmy Award for "Torietsu." Then "Okuribito," for which he wrote the script, went on to win an Acadeny Award for Best Foreign Film.

The video was directed by Jamie Hewlett, who designed the characters that make up the Gorillaz, and Bruce Willis makes an appearance in the car chase scene.

Pulling the creative strings behind the group is Blur vocalist Damon Albarn & his creative collaborator Jamie Hewlett. Their eclectic & distinct sound comes from their unique line-up that is made up of different nationalities, age, & musical backgrounds.

This collaboration between singer YUKI and director Isshin Inudou was realized based on an offer from YUKI and her desire to have Japan's scenery beautifully shot. An old man with a closed heart is gradually made to open up by YUKI's singing in this fantastic short.

Artist:YUKI After achieving success with her band "Judy and Mary," Yuki debuted as a solo artist in 2002. Starting with her distinct voice, lyrics, and live performances, to her artwork; her consistently sharp-edged style is always under the spotlight

Director : Isshin Inudo Inudo's directorial debut was "Two People Talking." Other films include "Josee, the Tiger and the Fish," "Touch" and "Bizan." His film "Zero Focus" won the Best Movie, Best Director, and Best Screenplay awards at the 33rd Japan Academy Awards.

Director : Ringo TangRingo Tang is a renowned visual worker, photographer and TVC director in Hong Kong and he gets a lot of international and local awards. Under his artistic direction, he has amassed lots of impressive works and diverse range of creative commercials.

“NANIWA DEKA BLUES(The Old Detective Blues)” is an authentic police drama which takes place in the city of Osaka. The story is about a veteran detective “Nakayan” (Mitsuo Nakatani) and his young subordinate chasing down the criminals with their patient investigations.

Artist : MITUSO NAKATANI Born in 1947, MISTUO NAKATANI is a retired detective formerly with the Osasa Prefectural Police, whose life took a different turn after winning a competition for contestants over 50's, at the age of 62. Cultivated from his experience of witnessing good and evil, NAKATANI's piercing facial expressions and his bittersweet voice will arrest your sensitivities.

 

Director : YUICHI KIMURA Born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1963, one of Japan's premiere comedians, YUICHI KIMURA, has been displaying his various talents as script writer, actor and director. In 2009, KIMURA had directed his first feature film “NISESATSU (Counterfeit Money)".

A film that depicts the break-up of 2 pairs of couples that attend the same high school from each's viewpoint. Just like a real experience, this depicts the irritation & anxiety of not knowing the true feelings behind relationships of love and friendship. By watching the stories of the 4 characters in this way, the emotions are amplified.

Artist : MAIKA19-year-old singer-songwriter who has a large base of similiar age fans that relate to her sympathetic lyrics.

Director : Sho Tsukikawa Tsukikawa was born in 1982. He completed post-graduate work at the Tokyo University of the Arts and has won the Grand prix at the JCF student film festival. He then proceeded under the tutelage of Kiyoshi Kurosawa and Kitano Takeshi, to direct 4 films including "Kokoro". He won the Journeys Awards Grand Prix for "Louis Vitton - The Time Walker." Jury members included Wong Kar-wai and Sofia Coppola.
