Man is a monster, a figment of the imagination, and a day-to-day explanation. Don’t go out at night alone, don’t seclude yourself with a man, watch your back, and be careful with how you dress, act, talk, and walk; a man may be watching, and you don’t know what he might do to you. Man is a cautionary tale that sadly keeps on giving. I truly want to root for men, I just don’t know how to stop fearing them, and I don’t know what I fear most, man or the stories of countless heartless men. Growing up fear raised and riddled in Jordanian society, by the time your body begins to dispense blood monthly, you find out that you carry something so dear between your legs that’s worth your life, and every man is going to fight you for it, So the stories of a man to fear begin to make sense, whether it’s your choice or not, If you lose it you will pay the price. How else can the shame be cleansed? It’s when you realize that man is not a monster, but is the man from your flesh and blood that spills yours, in the name of honor. But suppose you think you have had enough, you haven't met the monster that feeds the lot, the one you couldn’t fathom its existence, your last resort to protection, you seek safety in the system. But right now, there’s a woman in prison, a victim, wondering how she chose to find shelter and safety in a place where people lose their freedom, how come others’ punishment is her only solace? How come predators are out on the streets while she’s locked in here? How come she still feels like there’s no place like home, even though home is what she’s running from? The only thing you have left is the monster inside of you, it eats you up, it’s your fault for wanting more, for thinking things could be better. You are left with nothing, who cares about you? You don’t matter. And that’s how you break a woman, contain a woman, control a woman. That is the world we live in, that’s how we surrender, and give in. It’s a tragedy to lose against the monster inside of me, to be part of this cob, to be helpless against this complexity. So this story is not about a woman who dies for her honor, it's about one who kills for it. Two sisters facing these monsters one after the other in a fast-paced, dark-toned, and themed thriller that explores the complexity and the illogical logic behind honor crimes and all of its nuances, from the stigma of a male, left unmonitored in the presence of a female. And how that thought provokes a sense of danger. How an innocent man could fall victim to prejudgment because of a wrongful one?
