One of the most distinctive elements of the film is the balance between documentary and narrative storytelling. At its core is Ngoại herself, deeply real and grounded in everyday life, yet the film occasionally moves into moments of fantasy that reflect what it might feel like to reach such an advanced age. After living for over a century, what memories remain, and what thoughts occupy your mind? These moments of fantasy are also an extension of my own memories with my grandmother. The images are old photos of her and me and my family, merged with her dreams.
