Ms. Yamada (left) said she's been a fan of short films for a long time. "Short film directors get their message out very straight, to the point," she explains.

We meet more of the Okinawa crowd

A festival attendee from last year, Yasushi Ohmura and his pal, Ken Matayoshi. Ohmura said he likes the fact that there are not only American films in the program but also films from all over the world, describing the festival as a sort of "Short mania." He added that "you get a feel for the various countries and their differences through the films."
