"This is the first time I've seen short films, and there were a lot of unique films in the screening. And unlike most feature films we see, not all of these had happy endings, which was refreshing," said this man, who attended the screenings with his wife, who, on the other hand, had seen short films at the SSFF in Okinawa two years ago. "I was really impressed with 'Falling for Art,' and somehow the image at the end of the film left a deep impression on me."

Another fan gives us her thoughts

Shizuka Nakasone remembered attending the first year of the festival when it was known as the American SSFF. "It's really amazingly wonderful what you have been able to do with this festival in just a few years," she said. "Glee," "Offside, " and "The Lighthouse Keeper," were some of her favorite picks for this year's festival.
