In a back alley in Tokyo, Bessho stumbles upon a dilapidated, unfamiliar small cinema. The film playing is “The Man Who Travels Through Movies”. As the screening begins in the empty theater, Bessho notices a strange button attached to his seat. Pressing that button draws him into the cinematic world unfolding beyond the screen.
A romantic film in Paris, a car chase in New York, a group dance from an Indian movie, a World War battlefield, a Hong Kong action film, the interior of a spaceship—Bessho races through various cinematic worlds, as if touring the globe and the history of cinema itself.
He, who was supposed to be watching the screen as an audience member, eventually becomes the protagonist of the story and delves deeper into the films. A “cinematic journey” filled with love for cinema and a spirit of adventure, traversing the countless worlds that lie beyond the screen.
