Inspired by a real event that occurred in 2018 at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, this animated short tells the story of Hill, a woman who takes off into the night sky in a stolen plane?for the first and perhaps the last time in her life.
This film is an AI-assisted animation project. Still images were generated using Midjourney; motion visuals were created in collaboration with AI tools including Hailuo AI, Jimeng AI, and Keling AI. Voice performances were generated using ElevenLabs.

Xiaohan Yu

Xiaohan Yu graduated from the School of Fine Arts at the Beijing Film Academy and is currently a university lecturer. Her artistic practice focuses on experimental animation, digital painting, and photography, exploring themes such as gender, identity, and the body. Her experimental animation Pure Flame in Pairs was selected for the Lift-Off First-Time Filmmaker Sessions (2024) and exhibited in the “Superimposition – Seven Young Artists” group show at Tanghu Art Museum (2023). Her work Lin received the Special Jury Prize at the 2019 Beautiful World International Student Public Media Art Exhibition. She also won the Best Director Award for the 72-hour short film The Invisible Shore.
