    TOKYO STORIES / TOKYO TOKYO

A story about a man thinking back on his desire to move to Tokyo. He often dreams of a life where he never made it to Tokyo. As he moves between unclear memories and reality, the line between them slowly disappears. “Tokyo, Tokyo.” He repeats it like a magic word that can change everything, staying alone in his room as the same days repeat again and again.

TOKYO STORIES / TOKYO Abundant Descent

Tokyo is rich. It is efficient, rational, and never sleeps. But is that really true? In the rush of daily life, we may no longer notice even the flowers at our feet, and slowly lose sight of what matters.
This AI short film retells the Japanese myth of Tenson Kōrin in modern Tokyo. In the original story, Ninigi-no-Mikoto comes down from the heavens, meets Konohanasakuya-hime, and brings abundance to the earth. Here, that myth is placed in today’s city.
The story begins with small signs of loss in everyday life—plans being crushed, flowers ignored in the rain, bouquets pressed in crowded trains. From the sky above Tokyo, Ninigi arrives in a fall of golden light. In a quiet corner of the city, Sakuya cares for flowers. When they meet, something like abundance slowly returns to the city.
They are not direct figures of the myth, but its ideas run through the film. Rice and golden light stand for Ninigi. Mount Fuji, cherry blossoms, and flowers stand for Sakuya. These images repeat, linking ancient myth with modern Tokyo.

    TOKYO STORIES / TOKYO BLOOMING

When I was given the theme “TOKYO,” what first came to mind was the various emotions and intentions gathered in this city. I was born and raised in Tokyo myself, but as the term “moving to Tokyo” suggests, many people come to this city carrying their own hopes and struggles.
Throughout my life, I have been deeply impressed by friends who moved from rural areas to Tokyo, each of them holding dreams and goals close to their hearts. While living in the same city, everyone looks toward their own future—I have come to feel this atmosphere as one of Tokyo’s defining expressions. Having witnessed such people, Tokyo to me is a place where countless thoughts and feelings intersect, and where one is constantly led to reconsider one’s own existence.
I portray through image and sound the figure of a person living within Tokyo while searching for their own yet-unfound “color.” This is not the story of someone special, but rather a feeling that surely exists within many people living in this city.
I hope this can become a small source of hope for those who are also living in Tokyo while carrying something within themselves.

TOKYO STORIES / TOKYO Circle Train

The train is essential for living in Tokyo.
Among them, there is an “urban legend” surrounding the train that runs on the loop line, and this story was inspired by that idea.
