A city employee in Gunma, dreams of shooting a local PR video in the style of a classic cliffhanger-style TV suspense drama. But his boss rejects the plan immediately saying, “No blood, no murder… we don’t even have a cliff.” With his skeptical daughter by his side, he sets out on an unexpected second attempt to bring his vision to life.

Yu Sanbonsuge

Beginning his career making independent films as a student, he joined TBS Vision (now TBS Sparkle) in 2008. After going independent in 2013, he founded the production company pump Inc. in 2018 and currently serves as its CEO. His work spans a wide range of genres, from documentaries to commercials, seeking to capture the emotions that exist between reality and fiction.
