Director

Naoki Honjo

Photographer. Using large-format film cameras with folding mechanisms, he employs a unique technique to capture landscapes that resemble dioramas. Man-made objects and even people within real cities and natural settings are rendered as miniatures, creating a surreal sensation as if the viewer has been transported to another world. He travels the globe to shoot his work, utilizing cranes and helicopters.
His works are included in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
