SHORT SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL & ASIA 2015

The directors of the films up for nomination in the Official Competitions began arriving to Japan yesterday, so today it was finally time to give them all the big welcome that they deserve!

In attendance at the Welcome Party was not only  festival president Tetsuya Bessho and  festival ambassador LiLiCo, but also Arnaud de Saint-Exupéry, the general manager of Andaz Tokyo. As some of you will hopefully already know, Andaz Tokyo in Toranomon Hills is one of the venues that the festival is being held at this year!

Held of the 52nd floor of this glamorous building, the party took place on the open air veranda and offered spectacular views over the evening skyline; directors enjoyed sipping champagne whilst gazing out at the lit up Tokyo Tower and sprawling city beyond. 

At the same time, just one floor below the evening’s short film screenings commenced. Tetsuya Bessho rushed down to the Andaz Studio, where the screenings are being held all week, to introduce the “Personality” program and welcome a full house of audience members.

Both the party and screenings came to a successful close, with more than just a little shared laughter.
