Location : Kyoto Prefecture
■About the Area
"Amanohashidate," located at Miyazu Bay, is one of the top three scenic spots in Japan, alongside "Matsushima" in Mutsu and "Miyajima" in Aki. "Amanohashidate" translates as ‘a bridge across the sky,’ named after the unique lay of the land.
Luxurious Uji Matcha (green tea) sweets are very popular. Other specialties also include tamba chestnuts, black soybeans and jibie cuisine. For seafood, Taiza crab, Tango Japanese egg cockle, and oyster are recommended, complemented well by local sake.
