SSFF & ASIA staff will be introducing recommended events and screenings in the run up to the festival ♪

This time it is the Kaohsiung Film Festival Program from Taiwan!

In our fifth collaboration with Kaohsiung Film Festival, held annually in Taiwan’s second largest city, this year we shall once again deliver attractive and powerful short films from Taiwan.

”The Free Man”

Synopsis: A-Jie, an ex-con trying to turn over a new leaf, is working at a dry cleaner’s with Hsiao-Chih, a young disabled woman, and her abusive uncle. The two have lived lives with so little freedom, yet they can’t help yearning for more…is the world willing to give it to them?
