In 2018, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of SSFF & ASIA, we established the brand new "Non-fiction Competition."Being an Academy Awards® accredited short film festival has allowed us to present this competition, which will let the audience experience the power of visual images.

This film shows a new forest restoration site on the borders of the Leuser Ecosystem and reveals a Rewind symbol carved into a palm oil plantation in Sumatra. Portrays the growth of a woman who carves out her future through the journey. The traveler is Rie Kayano of Ainu. Born in Ainu with a mission, she visits a Native American tribe, Seminole, which builds its own culture. She tries to find a path she should take and move forward.
